Buggy as hell, I fell through the ground several times and had to reload an old savegame which made me replay about half an hour of gameplay which isn't very fun in a glitchy puzzle game with 20 FPS.Weird riddles you don't even know you have to solve. Some riddles are broken; I couldn't solve the elevator code riddle in the beginning because it didn't give me the feedback you need to be able to solve it.Hours of backtracking for objects you can barely see. I got stuck because I didn't pick up a bottle. As it turned out it was a bottle standing between 5 or 6 other bottles I couldn't pick up. I had to backtrack to pick up a small wooden handle lying on a wooden floor in the shadows.Walkthroughs aren't helpful because this is the Director's Cut Edition which changes riddles and object locations.There's an achievement "Find all 4 flashlights". After I fell unconscious I lost most of my inventory, including my 3 flashlights. When I woke up, I found my inventory in the other room - but only 1 of my flashlights. When I got back to the mansion and found the 4th one, it didn't trigger the achievement because I didn't have 4 flashlights at the same time. Great job.Seriously, this game was so good in the beginning, but after a while you start noticing what a mess it is. Worse than the prequel.. Great game. Can't recommend it enough.. I'm really disappointed of this game. 20 minutes into it and I've got bugged 3 times, I fell under the map in the train station and it really ruinned the whole game experience for me.. Great game with spooky atmosphere.. I would love to recommend this game but I found it just too hard. I am an adventure game player but the puzzles in this game and the previous are very difficult. One of the most difficult things was underlining the documents, because if you don't underline everything possible you really don't get the whole story. Then, after using a walkthrough to get a little over halfway I got stuck and have never finished it. I have had this game in my library for quite some time and have never finished it because I have to depend on a walkthough to progress after like the first chapter or two. It just wasn't worth it to me. I really wanted to finish the story but just going through the motions I lost all Immersion in the story and ended up bored with it. I know I'm in the minority here, but that's how I feel. This game also requires pretty good specs on your machine. I started on my old Win7 with integrated graphics and even though it met minimum specs I was just about unplayable. I now have a gaming computer, albeit an old one... 4 years old, it runs it just fine. I have dedicated graphics with 2 GB of memory, 12 GB of Ram and my processor runs with 3.5 GHz. If you are up for a challenge I would suggest at least 1 GB of dedicated graphics memory and a hefty processor. OK, well, just because I didn't recommend it doesn't mean it's unplayable or bad. It's not. If you are up for a challenge and have the equipment by all means go for it. But if you get too frustrated and feel stupid because you can't figure out very difficult puzzles or don't have the patience to underline everything and combine everything I would pass. There are people out there this may be a snap for but I am not one of them.. The Darkness Within 2 is a first person horror adventure game with an emphasis on investigation and piecing together information you find in books and also objects you find. Unlike the point and click nature of the first game you can actually move around in this one which is a nice change.But unfortunately this game is a buggy mess. There are invisible walls galore and sometimes you can just walk straight through them without even realising you weren’t supposed to go there. This often results in you falling through the world. This happened to me 5 times in the first 2 hours, losing a good amount of progress each time. But even when the game works i found it boring. The puzzles are quite difficult and a bit abstract. Some of them were not very logical at all. I don’t think many people if anyone could finish this game without consulting a walkthrough unless you’re some sort of genius.The sound was fine. Nothing special but did the job. Now i’m not one to mark a game down much because of the graphics but it must be said it looks pretty poor considering it was released in 2010 and games like Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2 and Amnesia: The Dark Descent were released in this year this game looks very poor in comparison. This looks like its from like 2005 honestly. If you’re really into these detective horror adventure games you might like this but i would recommend Scratches over this game.4/10. Fun game but quite a few bugs! (Like you fell out of the map if you moved too close to walls and so on lol) The story was really good tho! 7/10 stars!. puh i feel buggy and dissy after 1 hour.
